Puscifer - Conditions Of My Parole (2011)

Trip-Hop, Experimental, Maynard

I'm a huge Maynard fan all around, and Puscifer is no exception. Haunting harmonies and duets accompany trippy beats and industrial aura. I wouldn't recommend this album for Puscifer virgins, and to be honest it's taken Conditions a little longer to seep into my psyche, but in the end Maynard never disappoints. Does make me miss TOOL though...

Random aka Mega Ran - Mega Ran 9

Hip Hop, Underground

So this could be the greatest hip hop concept album of all time. In Mega Ran 9, Random aka Mega Ran, fuses nasty beats with the original soundtrack of Mega Man 9. If you never played Mega Man then this probably isn't a big deal, but if you were lucky enough to grow up during the golden age of video games and experience any of the numerous Mega Man titles, then your in for quite a treat. Not only does the album feature music from the game, but most of the songs revolve around game elements, like bosses, levels, and story lines. Mmmm... nostalgia.

Mega Ran - Splash Woman

Get Set Go - Ordinary World (2006)

Indie Rock, Folk, Melodic

Catchy upbeat acoustic style instrumentals mix with dark sarcastic and cynical lyrics to create a truly refreshing sound in a hopelessly predictable genre. You'll probably regret listening to it after each song incessently cycles through your head at work.

Orchid - Capricorn (2011)

Stoner, Retro

Highly anticipated album. Stoner doom metal in the Sabbath style. I'm tired.

Eagles Of Death Metal - Heart On (2008)

Alt Rock, Desert Rock

Fans of Queens Of The Stone Age are probably already familiar with EODM, which could be the most misleading name is music history. There's a story behind the name, but you can look that up yourself. Here's a great quote from co-founder Jesse Hughes regarding the album:

"EODM's latest fabulous weapon, a top-secret music missile, a sonic warhead sexually tipped for her pleasure, shot from the deck of USS EODM Mantastic Fantastic."

Great vintage desert rock & roll. Also, the album  cover is awesome.

Eagles Of Death Metal - Wannabe In LA

Electric Six - Fire (2003)

Funk Rock, New Wave, Disco?

Bought this album many years ago when I visited New York City and I've followed the band ever since. This video is originally what drew me to them, and to this day it's still one of my favorites. Like most white people I'm not much of a dancer, but this album does it to me every time. Of course I make sure to lock myself in the basement first...
